On August 28 this year, in another edition of weekend reading, I declared that the Chicago Bears would win their division. Even though you could count the number of people on one hand that believed me, they ended up doing just that. The funny thing is, winning the division doesn’t mean a thing right now because for the first time since 1941, the Bears are playing the Packers for the NFC Championship.
My family has had season tickets to the Bears game since the 60′s. Since I was a kid, I’ve missed only a handful of games. Out of the hundred plus games I’ve been to, I don’t think I ever looked forward to a game as much as this one. I can’t get to sleep each night because I’m thinking about this game. I then wake up in the middle of the night and can’t get back to bed because of I’m thinking about this game. If my wife didn’t read this blog, I would tell you that I don’t even remember being this excited for our wedding. But she occasionally does, so I can’t tell you that. (:
Enough of my obsession, on to the weekend reading…
